Personal feedback we receive from basketball players has ensured our continuing development of new and exciting frame technology. With your choice of a Titanium or Aluminium frame and a very large choice of wheel and castor options you can have the best chair on court. We custom build each wheelchair to ensure a perfect fit, and to make sure that the athlete gets the very best out of their equipment.

We have the very best fabricators in the country producing our wheelchairs, and only the best components are used, if the components don’t meet our high standards then we make them ourselves.

SEATING

We all sit differently, we all push differently, and we provide accurate fabrication from your measurements to ensure comfort and efficient propelling.

We also offer "Ergo" seating positioning by Kees van Breukelen M.D. Double Performance, and we can flare the seat back and taper the seat sling.

Adjustable width back upholstery can be supplied to allow you to alter your body position.

Seat slings can be supplied in fabric, aluminium, titanium and carbon fibre, solid seating transfers energy more efficently.

RESTRAINT SYSTEMS

Webbing straps can be made in different widths and lengths and are secured with velcro or clasps.

Ratchet straps from M2 and Pelvi Loc are very strong and can be tightened to seriously secure your hips, legs and feet. If providing your own sourced ratchet straps, we can provide attachment points for them where ever you want.

Straps can be modified for single leg and or stumps with stump support if required.

Titanium Options

Light and Strong - The top 2 things you need.

In 1992 our very first Melrose wheelchair was fabricated from Titanium, although it was a day chair it highlights our 28 years experience in working with Titanium. Later in 2006 we developed our first Titanium sports wheelchair for a Japanese rugby player.

We had been previously testing Titanium fabrication for weld retention during impact by creating Titanium pickbars and testing them on existing Aluminium frames - results can best be described as spectacular. Fast forward several years and with further development we now build Titanium Basketball, Rugby and Tennis sportschairs.

Although Titanium is twice as heavy as Aluminium, Titanium's high modulus (stiffness) allows for much thinner sidewalls in the tubing that is used - this means much less metal is used in the frame compared to an Aluminium frame. The thinner sidewalls along with the higher melting temperature means that skilled fabricators require longer build periods. This increases the cost of a Titanium sportschair - a new Titanium Basketball chair for example would be twice the cost of an Aluminium Basketball chair.
